I started to become very interested in urban landscape and living in a large east coast city there is plenty of urban landscape to go around. These two pieces were drawn from photographs with pencil, then inked and painted with gouache. I used colored pencil and cut paper as well. Around this time I also started becoming interested in parts and exploded diagrams. Slowly this idea of things being built and taken apart was starting to form in my brain. Something about building… but breaking the rules. Something about things falling apart. I still haven’t figured it out.
