I lost my eyeglasses in a street in Santa Fe one night, on our walk to dinner. I can have a bad habit of putting my glasses in my pocket – and sometimes they fall out and land in the place where all lost things go never to be seen again. I have lost many pairs of eyeglasses in my life – the pair before this is in the Pacific ocean – off the coast of Oregon, floating amongst the fish — or perhaps they have washed up in Japan.

With my current thoughts about objects and environments with my work, I thought this loss of an everyday object, thereby changing my reality to be something I needed to record. I was also interested in doing a painting without any collage, and painting only with a knife.
